Networking at Denver URBAN Spectrum ONLINE - connecting people to people

From July 22nd to July 24th 2005, nine members of the James P. Beckwourth Mountain Club backpacked into McCullough Gulch for three days and two nights, below 14,265 foot Quandary Peak, south of Breckenridge, Colorado. The first day, we backpacked about 1/2 to 3/4 mile to our base camp, situated on a rocky ledge, overlooking a willow covered creek and beaver ponds, to setup camp, to check out the general camp site terrain and hang out for the day. The moon was out in all its glory that night. The second day was our 5 mile around trip hike to beautiful waterfalls and the lake nestled in a glacial bowl at 12, 400 feet, with the 14,265 foot Quandary Peak as a backdrop. We hiked around the lake to the inlet to explore the upper lake, until thunderous, thunder storms run us back down the mountain to our base camp. That evening, we hung around the camp fire, sipping hot drinks and talking. On the last day, we packed up our tents and headed back to our cars for the return trip back to the Denver metro area.Hope you enjoy the 300+ photos from the McCullough Gulch backpack trip.

The Photo Show presentation is long, over 300 pictures, so I hope you have a good amount of spare time to view the entire backpack trip picture presentation.

By the way, the music is called Soul Junction by Red Garland.
